This converter can quickly convert hexadecimal, decimal, octal, and binary codes to each other. Negative and floating point numbers are supported. Entering any encoding in the four encoding boxes can immediately get the results of other conversions.

The octal numeral system, or oct for short, is the base-8 number system, and uses the digits 0 to 7. Octal numerals can be made from binary numerals by grouping consecutive binary digits into groups of three (starting from the right). For example, the binary representation for decimal 74 is 1001010. Two zeroes can be added at the left: (00)1 001 010, corresponding the octal digits 1 1 2, yielding the octal representation 112.

Hexadecimal is a representation of data in a computer. It is different from the representation in our daily life. It consists of 0-9, A-F, and the letters are case-insensitive. Correspondences with decimals are: 0-9 corresponds to 0-9; A-F corresponds to 10-15; N-ary numbers can be expressed as 0-(N-1) numbers, and more than 9 letters A-F.
